RP6C National Rally 2010

M40 was awful too - added to which LDD developed a misfire on the way home, (which Nick and Duncan are now diagnosing) but it didn't detract from what was a great day - well done to all the committee for organising a brilliant rally - it was great to see so many P6's gathered together in such lovely surroundings

I I think Quattro must work for Mi5 though as no one knew you were there, would have been good to say hello.

I just happened to be near OCY and noticed this MI5-like guy busy snapping pics of the engine bay...so I sidled up...was good to meet you Richard and say thanks in person for those rear top links!

Another echo here...my thanks and congratulations to Angie, Mark and rest of the committee for a superbly organised day out at a brilliant venue!

More thanks are due to Nick Dunning for carting a pair of De Dion elbows up to the rally for me, and to Ian Wilson for sorting out a parts package for Rebekah at short notice and bringing it along.

Congratulations too to Andy and Brian on their well-deserved trophies - always great to see their beautiful standard-setting cars! Thanks for making the long journey!

I brought some friends along who were amazed and impressed at the standard of the cars on display. The only problem is - they may want to come to the next rally, and OCY was riding a little low at the rear with 3 in the back and a bootful of parts! 8)

I'd just like to echo the others' comments and say it was a great day, nice cars, good location and fantastic people too. Well done to Angie and Mark and anyone else who ordganised the event.

I put some more faces to names, but didn't managed to talk to rockdemon or Dave3066 even though I saw your cars. I think Quattro must work for Mi5 though as no one knew you were there, would have been good to say hello.

Shh!! - you didn't see me, right?

I did have a long chat with Webmaster, Chris York, Vaultsman, Tofufi, Ian (Rover Classics), short chat with Mark Gray, and hung around MFH and Connor but no one around to chat to. It was a bit of a rush as I had a University campus to look round as well. Brilliant turnout though - very good.

I wasn't going but realised at the eleventh hour that my Daughter was in University in Stoke in Trent, so I thought I was make a visit to both on the same day. OK I know my Daughter was there but didn't realise that Stoke and Rugeley were so close together.

Sparky will be there next year so not as easy to hide.

Sorry Testrider/Rockdemon but I didn't know you were there :?

Richard

On behalf of the committee, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks for all the positive comments about the 2010 RP6C National Rally at Rugeley. Thank you for all the comments on here and to those of you who have emailed, phoned & text during the evening and today.
It was really lovely to meet so many of you who I hadn't met previously and to see all of you that I already know. Thank you to Lief and rover100rich, who made the journeys from over waters and glad to hear you made it home safely.

From the club's point of view it was a very successful day and it was made that way by the people who supported it, thank you.

The next bit of news is that we have the date for the next Beamish Rally sorted (thanks to Baz in the North East), and that is Sunday 15th May 2011, so put it in your dairy now, cos I have!!. Lets start 2011 with an even bigger bang than the end of 2010.

And don't forget if you're passing our way, the kettle is always on but don't forget to bring some chocolate biscuits with you. ( I don't keep them in because Mark is on a diet!!!!)

My heartfelt warmest regards to you all
Angie

A big thank you to everyone who organised and set up the National Rally at Rugeley. Wonderful and certainly worth my 6 hour round trip. Thanks Tony Bunting.

Here are 17 photos I took at the rally:

Nice one Tony.

I did hear the Buntingmobile (loose limbed 2000 auto flying machine) was it's usual speedy self on the M40 and left the pursuing V8's in the dust :)

Hello Everyone,

It was my first meeting as I'm a new member, I was the one with the red 3500s with Webasto BCD 860L, and the Lurid Green Basketball Boots...

I really enjoyed it and can't believe it's so long until we get another chance to do it, my car had a for sale sign in it on the day, but meeting you lot has made me have a change of heart. "Jinx" is staying for a while yet now. There were a couple of people who I wanted to chat to longer but didn't get a chance... Chris(?) with the other Monza 3500s ETR 290L and Erik with the Metallic Blue SD1 powered Series 2 with 1 bonnet/grille. I also meant to catch up with the young lad with the white 2000 (which he couldn't bring on the day) Anyone know who these members are?

Thanks again from me and Jinx

What is this silver metallic car fourth from right in the front row?

Nearest us with the little boot spoiler on? A Rover 216 Coupe or Tomcat as they're sometimes known I reckon :)

I've never driven a 200 coupe but do like the style. Just not sure whether that setup could take the power of the turbo engine... Must be very frisky to drive at the least...
