Try thinking before you make a post....

Some learn by it....
Both are good points and I have taken them on board :?

Thats the last time I post something in the 'Spotted' sub forum  :|

Theres nothing wrong with your original posting!
If however the owner of said car wants to come forward and say "HI" then that's fine, otherwise respect their privacy.
I spotted a VERY nice 3.5,possibly an "S" driving through my town with a private plate recently!
I made a post about it,but had no response,so he/she either doesn't want to be known or doesn't frequent the forum!

oh bdear whats going on here. I suggest we all move on .... you never know gents, we will all probably neeed each other at some point in the future. Deep breath, shake hands and move on 8)

To finish off with this; yes, anybody can be found if they're being looked for, 'looked' being the operative word. All I pointed out was that somebody was having their location posted who probably had no idea that it was happening.
And the value of a car being high or low doesn't seem to matter to people who like to drive old motors round in a circle & destroy them. Please don't anyone tell me that this thought hadn't occurred to them. A £500 (or less) car against a 2-year stretch doesn't seem to bother some folk in the least. As I said, take a look at the P5 forum. http://www.roverp5club.org.uk/
P6's may not make such good candidates as their larger brethren but they are no strangers to this 'sport'. And the price of scrap has gone up again, hasn't it?
Also there's no reason not to post in the 'spotted' section. Just don't identify a car except for colour/model & general area. If the owner is here they can acknowledge you or not, as is their wish.

I dont really understand what the big deal is with this thread.

Well, thats a lie, i do, but i thought it'd make a splendid first sentence to my first post to claim i didnt 'get it'.

What i was more interested in was the fact that there are P6's i dont know about in my local area, as ive not seen any for a long long time. Other than mine (which hasnt moved since 1999, lol).

I just moved back to Dagenham from Romford yesterday, was living off Waterloo Road, i have two cars, a silver 2004 plate Rover 25, and a 1971 2000TC which im about to start some work on. Im living now near Becontree station, im kinda hijacking this thread (hello Jack...) saying all this, but the words Crow Lane pricked my ears (and i dont mean i had a little aural fun with Julian Clary).

So hi there.

This lives in Crow Lane

Thanks.

It is modernised.... a colour that is in keeping with today, yet within the range, uprated, lowered and stiffened to take out wallow. Minilites, which are modern, yet period..... fuel injected with 5 speed box, thanks to this baby!

Heads all done, top end rebuilt and painted ... looks superb under the bonnet. Still a few efi niggles.. not mechanical, but electrical. Am running through the components on the injection system .... learning a lot on the way. I love bodywork, but electrical tolerances and voltmetres are not my thing ... getting there bit by bit by bit. Need an SD1 efi owner to sit down with really.

As for it sounding great, it has custom stainless manifolds and exhaust system, with far bigger primaries and collectors ... the headers are bespoke block hugger types, but made using old P6 headers as a template, but in stainless and bigger, hence not restrictive.

Wasn't the fuel injection always a bit of a problem on SD1's and I assume Range Rovers of the same era ? Is there now the knowledge to make it work ? Otherwise aren't we better off with carbs ?

Never go back to carbs !

What problems are you having with the injection ?

There is the option to swap for the later system, but not sure how that would work with the twin plenum setup. Other options get pricey if you start talking aftermarket ECUs etc.

The guy on the V8 Forum or SD1 Forum named Ramon has written down everything you need to know more or less :)
It's all on his website http://www.vintagemodelairplane.com/index.html he really seems to know his stuff 8)
