    Electric Fuel Pump

Thanks again for all the info, just remembered something else to add in. When the AA man was checking everything over he commented that I had a strong spark going into the distributor but it was a bit weak coming out, he also noticed blue flashes around the top of the coil. Even though he...

    Electric Fuel Pump

Thanks for the info, nearly made a big mistake there didn't going electricI. I've just had the chance to go out and look things over. Put the key in, turned it over and it fired up and was chugging along nicely so looks like the pump is fine after all and it was up a steep hill in hot weather...

    Electric Fuel Pump

I've been reading up as far as I can on this and need some advice on fitting an electric fuel pump to my recently acquired P6 3500 Auto. I'd like to fit it at the front, it seems a lot of work to fit it at the rear! and would like to keep it as unintrusive as possible, retaining the old...

    melted hydraulic pipe to clutch

Hi, at long, long last the heads are back on my 3500s, the engine is running after a lot of electrics problems, believe it or not the plug leads were all one position out in the dizzy cap. I hadn't moved them neither had my mate who was helping me with the blown head gasket so a ghost has been...

    Fitting Radio

Ok so it's probably really simple but how do I take the radio out so I can change it? Do I need to remove the console and take it out from behind or does the front cover come off?

    2200SC Servo Problem

Think i've found the possible cause of the servo problem, slackened it off the bracket and discovered it's a Powertune unit, not a Lockheed unit. Doing a quick google found a lot of references to these units, most not very complimentary! Looks like i've got to try and source the Lockheed unit...

    2200SC Servo Problem

JUst been going through the history and cannot find a receipt for the servo. It looks very clean and i'd assumed it had been replaced alonfg with the rear calipers etc but think i'm going to work on the basis that it's not new. In answer to Ron's comment, yes the pedal goes down on startup of...

    2200SC Servo Problem

Just picked up my latest addition, a 1974 2200SC Automatic. It's got a few problems, only to be expected but the brakes are a real concern at the moment. The pedal is very hard but it does eventually stop the car. Doing the servo test, pressing the brake whilst starting the engine, the pedal...

    Davos White S2 Jct 5 M25 anticlock Sat 5pm

I did ask the machine shop about welding it up, apparently the weld would be too hard to drill and tap to take the stud. I did suggest putting a bolt through instead but my mechanic friend told me off and said I had to do the job properly - point taken!!

    Davos White S2 Jct 5 M25 anticlock Sat 5pm

Is it really March since I last posted!! Things have gone slowly with the P6, the heads have been skimmed but the machine shop checked the valves and they let fuel through so i'm now waiting for them to be reseated. In the meantime the interior has been stripped out to get rid of the wet...

At last heads off. Looks like the blown gasket was caused by loose head bolts on one side. The heads have been cleaned and are waiting to go off to the local machine shop to be skimmed and valves checked over. The maniforlds also need a bit of repair as the studs have snapped off or have bodged...

    Correct Carpet Colour

Well decision made, i'm going for a light grey carpet, with a darker grey for the overmats which will have a light grey binding to match the main carpets. Order is going in today with about 4 week delivery so watch this space!!

    Correct Carpet Colour

Looks like i've got more jobs to do then, find out what the box is, try and fit the speedo cable and look out for a trim label somewhere. That might be the first job, I need to get the carpet out to get rid of the damp, musty smell and dry the floor out before the rust sets in.

Thanks for the info Stan, it doesn't sound as if it was on the road for very long after we parted company with it, only 2 or 3 years I reckon. Thanks for the welcome as well, I can't wait to get mine back on the road so I can come along to some of the meets.

    Correct Carpet Colour

Well now i'm totally confused, I've got a sample of grey carpet coming but the more I look at mine the more I'm thinking it might be beige afterall. I take it there's no way of telling what the colour would have been when the car was new, I don't have much history with the car, just a few old...
