what is involved with transforming a manual [flywheel] to an auto box.
I understand the crank shaft is shorter on one of them and is a major surgery to convert.

Hi guys I have a dodgy brake switch. 1972 P6b. No stop lights. Switch unit sits below the servo.
Listening to disappointment from others on here after getting a "new" after market replacement. These are not up to quality and break down in a short time.
I havn't removed the broken switch yet as...
This has just happened.
All four indicators have suddenly given up flashing. Three days into receiving a fresh WOF/COF. too
Is it an earth issue? Have had a fiddle with the boot connection bundle next to the battery and still nothing
Any clues
Gerald
well just love that colour collaboration.
40yrs difference but that green Packie would have been green stunner in her day. There I was thinking everything in the 30's was black'n white
I also took a pic from a left view , but the Rover looked tiny so you only get the right view.
My P6b ignition switch is playing silly buggers with me.
The car will fire on contact using the key.
As soon as I release the key the motor will die.
I have to hold the key onto full contact for a lot longer so that she will stay fired up before releasing the key.
A Google search has suggested...
Trying to get my head around the removal and reinstall of the bushes #539042

Im about replacing the 12v pump unit that sits atop the washer reservoir.
Ive done all the checks ie cleaned lines from pump through to bonnet jets.
Pump rotates but no suction anymore. Im thinking 50yrs has taken its toll.
Has anyone successfully replaced the 12v motor/pump with a modern unit?

I have at hand stainless bolts that suit the pump. Is this a good way to go?
What ever bolts...
My P6b had a carb overhaul a year back and she is still running as sweat as ever.
I know our older motors don't like the new bio-fuels, well the fuel system don't.
My question is .
Is it OK to use a fuel system cleaner to maintain this carbie performance.
I can't find any reference to these...

Ive just had my old BW35 box upgraded with Aussie spec innards.
I took it back to the mechanic for a fine tune and he noticed a slight oil leak at the inhibitor switch. Nothing a regular rag wipe won't fix.
Im looking into a replacement but most auto outlets are saying "no guarantee" as the new...
I pulled the wiper valance off as I want to address the untidy heater box top.
Can-o-worms underneath.

He recently did a P6b auto...
Any leads on where I can get a new rubber bush that holds the BW35 gear lever knob in place.
The bush that sits at the top of the lever and under the knob.
Mine had gone like jelly in the heat and is next to useless
As the title implies my P6b selection went from smooth to very very hard to move between drive positions.
The gear box performs well in all stages.
Before I start the console removal process from the top to get at the selector housing.
Anyone else had this problem? and what was the cause.
happy...
