Re: MGTF1500resto.All but finished,1st drive tomorrow,if its dry
Hi Richard.
At this point in time I am still checking values out.
Its difficult as there are not many original TF1500's about to use as a guide!!
And those that are circa £10-14k need a retrim and repaint, mechanical and engine work!
Even a fully original low miles on the road one at £23k,could either be a driver as is or benefit from paint/trim,chrome.
With mine, all the hard work has been done, and if a new owner wanted to locate an original engine and fit the screen and a hood, and restore the dash, that is very easily done.
I have not changed anything to fit the donor engine!
I know some dont like the Triumph 1500 lump, but it looks very much the part, and it actually goes very well, and is dead easy to get cheap parts for,or replace if it goes bang!
All I have done is drill 2 holes for the gearbox mounts, and make a front mount bracket to fit the original mount point and rubber.
I have a gut feeling asking price will be around the £22k mark.
If you or your dad are interested, how about your MGC and £18k cash!!
