P6s in Greece

Whereabouts is the red one Demetris?
I may go and take a peek...
Saw this near my place recently!
Was last taxed in '99 though by the looks of it...

Blimey! That looks remarkably similar to this one I saw whilst out in Athens last year. Was it down from the Acropolis area?

So it has moved recently, if only to the other side of the road!
Dave, check out the background of the first picture, a small clue :D

Oh yes  I was looking at the buildings and signs etc to see if there were any similar. I forgot to look up Doh!

There were '76 2000TC's - for the Italian market where 2200 took it into a higher tax bracket. I suppose one could have made it to Greece. Has it got the Italian wing repeaters (my PC won't let me look at that type of site at the moment - and I can't figure out why  )

Chris

Is that platinum paintwork?
The car is like a montage of the p6 range!
No side repeaters Chris..

I bumped (not literally!) into a well cared for 2200 TC the night before, parked outside a hotel in my home town. A rare find indeed!
I couldn't find the owner though. :(
Sorry for the bad photo, but mobile phones and dark don't do together well.

Discovered this by accident a month ago in Neos Cosmos, and finally managed to take a proper look at it yesterday
neoscosmosrover.jpg

The scrapyard of sorts isn't in the most desirable neighborhood  and unfortunately a certain demographic took a disliking to the poor rover.
All glass smashed, interior pretty trashed, bodywork and trim....

The reason i wanted to go back and see was, from my distance photo it appeared to have the factory 'wood' look metal spoked wheel. And of course 14 inch rostyles in whatever condition they might be...not to mention any other useful finds for my car
It does have the steering wheel, although it has a small crack each side of the rim where it meets the spokes.
Wheels don't look too bad suprisingly, but it was beginning to get dark..

I thought i might be able to bring some choice parts back to UK to sell or use, but i don't think i'll be pursuing this idea after seeing it up close.
I'm only here for another two weeks now, and can't wait to recommission my car upon returning-it has been safely tucked away so hopefully isn't too mad at me
I've got some distinct plans for my car, which shall unfold soon

The owner of the yard seemed to think the car has an owner who's planning on restoring the car, but that seems a tad unlikely to me considering how and where it's been left. He also tried to convince me i would have to buy the whole car from him!

Demetris, if you're interested in the wheels for example, i have the owner's phone number...

Crazy neighborhood, next street down is full of classic GM cars, like this early impala and i'm not sure what the other is? Buick i think?

Neos Cosmos 'the new world' ironically full of old cars

Jim, I think the clue for your "Buick" is Fordyniner on the side. I'd guess a 49 Ford!

John.

Hi Jim,
I hope that you have sort of settled down now, despite the hard times.
i guess that you have discovered the collection of a sort of well known (in classic car circles) dentist :? . She has an acquired taste for old American iron, mainly painted pink. Barbie style.
Regarding the P6, you can pm me with the owner's telephone number, i don't think that anything can happen anytime soon, after all i am 500 Km to the north, but you never know...

Demetris

I'd guess a 49 Ford!

That would be my guess too, from the tail light side mouldings, as can just be seen in this model I modified a few years back....

Sold by a Renault dealer in Athens.
Very very expensive, but it looks so nicely preserved, and probably still on its factory paintwork. It is really rare to find such nice classics over here.
For that kind of money i 'd also expect a new set of bumpers and bonnet badge, interior light lence, and tyres in correct size. I can manage cleaning the leather seats.
I don't expect selling anytime soon (if ever...) for that money though...

I'd expect a decent handbrake boot too, but I doubt it will be getting one of those any time soon either...

Well spotted. I forgot to mention this too.
It would be interesting to look at under bonnet photos of this car. Perhaps there are more details to put right?

There are bound to be. One of the few of life's little pleasures still available to us in these troubled times...
