I've actually managed to get into the office today...... but then according to the Sky News weather this morning it's not snowing up here anymore.......

PAE is wondering what sort of owner would leave her undressed without wings and sills in this weather

Sorry PAE!

Yes indeed Dave,.that is a fantastic picture postcard. Looks just like Christmas... :D

It is the first day of Summer here in Australia and in Sydney as in many other parts of N.S.W, Vic and Qld it is raining.

Ron.

No snowmen in NSW then :)

Made our little girl happy today :)

That's a great snowman! We will have to add him to that wonderful Christmas card scene from the Scottish borders.

Cheers

Hello Rich,

Snow in N.S.W in Summer,...it has been know to happen but with all this rain at present,..probably not.

That is a great snowman too,...maybe one day I'll be in the right spot at the right time and make one too... :)

Ron.

Well, it's hit Kent. Monday night & just as the first snow appeared, I was driving the whole part of the M25 that ground to a halt yesterday & is still gridlocked by out-of-hours lorries at the moment.
Fortunately last night I had a trip carrying carpets to Warrington cancelled as the Scottish boys couldn't get down to meet us apparently (you just can't get the staff! ), so I ended up having a very uneventful trip taking the newspapers to Northampton instead & listening to phone-in's full of stories of woe from the southern part of the nations favourite ring road.
I wasn't complaining about the lost overtime.

Hey dude, where's my car?

This is Hoyland near Sheffield and my car was clear last night.

I think I'll take the day off 8)

Welcome to Winter :D

We've had another 6 inches overnight. Daytime temperature here is currently -3 Celsius. Didn't get to work today

That's very pretty 8)

I did finally get to work to find that out of all 12 units on our estate it was only me and the joiner across the way.

The snow was around 6" deeper than my ground clearance so I did a little ploughing

Strange though - there was no one else there?

I had to go on a job last night around 2am and it was -10 when I left.

If anyone has a phone line feeding their house overhead i.e from and pole try not to let the snow sit on it the wires as the weight can bring them down. If you can a tap with a broom handle will knock it off.

Colin

Great tip Colin, I've got a overhead phone line, and my life wouldn't be worth living if the web connection went down !!

What I love are the people who clear a very small area of snow from their windscreen and then take to the roads, even better when you're behind one on the motorway as a 4ft sheet of snow flies off the roof

Snowed all day here today, managed to get into work this morning, but they sent us home at lunch time, all the couriers were either closed or packing up early so there was no point being there.

I was carrying the milk last night on the southern section of the M25 & almost making my own tracks, though not quite. It was practically deserted this time however which was lucky considering the conditions. Managed to get my four drops done & hit more traffic on my way home in Bruiser than I encountered all night.
The side roads are skid pans.

Just to make all of you feel a little warmer, i took a pic of my thermometer showing outside temperature at the moment. 8)
It is a little cloudy, but this is not a problem. I have the windows wide open.
I remind you, we are still in the Northern hemisphere and this is NOT normal for this time of the season.
