    Running issues!!

Hi All, A bit of a return from the wilderness for me. After a few years away from the forum due to child, work, life etc., I come with cap in hand looking for advice. A quick refresher: Neil's the name, living in Australia, driving a 1976 P6B. The car is a daily, reliable runner and never...

The paradox of the rear decker seal....

Greetings again all, Here is a real brain blitzer. Had a reasonable rear decker seal on Winston (Rover No.1) but despite several efforts never got it to sit 100% true. It always had some loss of contact with the rear window. So I obtained another one off the 'Bay and decided to fit it to...

    Help please!!

Hi All, Took the P6 to work today as normal. The weather here has been very hot (35-40deg) lately but the car has been coping well. Parked up at work and did my 12 hour shift. When I came to head home the car refused to start. The motor turned freely, plenty of fuel, the points looked OK, so...

Greetings all, As you may know I recently picked up a twin for Winston. All in all a reasonable motor. But........ Had some rain recently and found a paddle pool in the driver's side foot well. Bugger!!! The windscreen seal was well and truely munted, all dry and cracked and peeling away from...

Greetings All, As you may have seen in the Projects page the Devil himself  possessed me and made me buy another P6B!!! I feel an exorcism may be in order  One of the issues found so far is the PAS. It is super heavy, virtually non-existant. Sure I may end up with forearms like...

Can a battery be too strong??

Hi All, Probably a silly question  Can a battery be too powerful for the Rover 3500 :?: I have a new battery left over from the Mustang. It should fit the Rover size-wise but it has 620cca. Is that OK or too much for the starter etc. :?: Regards RT.

Riddle me this. How do you turn a pony into a fish??

Salutations all. :D A strange question I know but it is possible. As you may recall I recently imported a Mustang from the States. Here 'tis: Now, due to a rather fortunate set of circumstances, I am trading for a 1965 Plymouth Barracuda  Plus a wadge of cash on top. This is the...

Squeal on cornering (not wheel spin.....)

Hi all, Just noticed over the last couple of days that I have a bit of a "squeal" on cornering. It appears that it may be the gear box (BW65) as there is some minor slipping as well. The fluid levels all appeared OK on last check so am wondering what this may be. Any suggestions??? RT.

    "3500" side badge....???

Salutations again all, As you may recall from my "Blue Switches" thread I have obtained another P6 as an organ donor vehicle for Winston. I am harvesting the parts to use on a "swap good for better" basis and using as and when needed. The blue switches appear to be rare-ish and I have now...

    Blue switches??????

Hi again all, I have just manged to pick up another donor car ('71/72 V8, no motor) as a donor car for Winston. I didn't really need it but the panels are dead straight and it has a red interior, one of my preferred colours. And you can never have enough spares. The price was reasonable and...

Greetings all, Just thought I should update you on the new pony in the stable. Replacing speedo cable.

Greetings All and New Year's Tidings, Would someone be so kind as to post a step by step guide to removing/replacing a speedo cable on Winston (1976 S2 V8 with round guages).
